Descrizione

Errore di identificazione: Chondrostoma dilloni è un sinonimo junior di Labiobarbus beso, ma questa è un'identificazione errata. Il pesce raffigurato non assomiglia a nessuno della famiglia dei Labeobarbus o dei Chondrostoma (Nases). La struttura delle pinne è completamente diversa. Molto probabilmente è un Clarias sp. (uno dei pesci gatto che respirano l'aria). La descrizione seguente comunque si riferisce al nome della specie indicata sul francobollo. Possono raggiungere i 36 cm di lunghezza totale. Diffusione

Si trova in Africa: sistemi del lago Tsana, del Nilo Azzurro e dei fiumi Awash. Segnalato anche dal Nilo in Sud Sudan. È un pesce d'acqua dolce benthopelagico. (Testo da: www.fishbase.se).
